What is a Training Plan?
Training Plans are written by coaches to help athletes reach their goals in health and fitness. Plans include a structured individualized plan that is written to fit each athlete's life and goals while holding the athlete accountable. Goals can be to complete a race, reach a (personal record) PR, be able to complete a further distance, or many more. The coach provides guidance throughout the entire plan.
How is Advanced Fitness Different?
Unlike plans that are found in books or online, plans are customized for each individual and come with personalized coaching. If the athlete encounters an injury or illness along the way or has questions about nutrition or how to prepare for a race, a coach is available to answer these questions or modify the training plan. Plans also include anaerobic threshold testing, maximum heart rate testing, establishment of heart rate zones, and pace coaching, as well as nutrition and race preparation and tactic coaching. Advanced Fitness begins with a foundation to help individuals improve their fitness. From that foundation, a combination of cutting edge science and traditional principles can then help athlete's to establish new levels of performance. For those individuals focused on athletic achievement, Advanced Fitness can offer the chance to become a better swimmer, cyclist, runner, or triathlete through customized training programs and personalized coaching.
Why Do People Utilize Advanced Fitness?
People seek out Advanced Fitness for many different reasons. One common reason is assistance in overcoming barriers. Advanced Fitness trainer, Ann Lehmkuhler, helps people move past physical and mental/emotional limitations related to health and fitness. She is also there to help clients identify and commit to achievable goals while taking into account each individual’s needs and time available to devote to training. Advanced Fitness can also help athletes to maintain accountability to goals while providing safe and varied programs to help make the fitness process enjoyable. Ann, has been an endurance athlete for 21 years and coached endurance sports for 16 years. She brings her own experiences as a competitive athlete in running, swimming, cycling, and triathlons of all different distances into her coaching.
How Does Advanced Fitness Work?
Advanced Fitness coaches begin by evaluating the health history of each client. Once medical clearance has been obtained or deemed unnecessary, Ann will meet with the client to develop individual fitness goals, assess current fitness levels, and outline an individual schedule for each athlete. Using this information, she will then develop a unique training plan to help each client reach their individual goals.
Is Advanced Fitness Always the Best Choice?
No, just as no doctor can be an expert in every area of health, a coach cannot be an expert in every aspect of fitness. For example, Advanced Fitness is not the best choice for individuals looking for help in training in power lifting or for body building competitions. People seeking help in reaching these goals are better served by coaches who specialize in this area.
